Catalytic Silylation: SiO2-supported gold nanoparticle catalysts showed high activity for silylation of C(sp2)−H bond to afford a series of aryl and heteroarylsilanes. Detailed mechanistic investigation revealed that O2-activated Au NPs and ethers cooperatively functioned to generate silyl cation, thereby enabling electrophilic C−Si bond formation.
