Dans une résine époxy ayant une faible viscosité et une excellente résistance à l'eau, une composition de résine époxy ayant celle-ci, une composition de peinture et un procédé de formation d'une couche de revêtement utilisant celle-ci, la composition de résine époxy comprend une résine époxy préparée par réaction d'une huile de noix de cajou (CNSL) choisie parmi le cardol, le cardanol, l'acide anacardique et un alkylcardol, et un oxyde d'haloalkylène. La composition de peinture ayant une telle composition de résine époxy peut avoir une excellente efficacité de mise en uvre et une aptitude au durcissement aux basses températures et peut former une couche de revêtement ayant une résistance à l'eau améliorée.
