PdCl2/CuCl2/Bi(OTf)3‐promoted intramolecular domino annulation of sulfonyl o‐allylarylchromanones provides tetracyclic sulfonyl dibenzooxabicyclo[3.3.1]nonanes and bicyclic arylnaphthalenes with good to excellent yields in MeOH at room (25 °C) and refluxing (65 °C) temperature, respectively. The starting sulfonyl o‐allylarylchromanones can be easily obtained from the intermolecular cyclocondensation of α‐sulfonyl
The present invention relates generally to catechin and epicatechin conjugates of formula (I). For example, a chemical synthesis process for the preparation of catechin and epi-catechin compounds, in particular of catechin and epi-catechin conjugates is disclosed. A further aspect of the invention pertains to new catechin and epi-catechin conjugate compounds.

A mild and efficient Mitsunobu protocol for the regioselective alkylation of catechols such as 3,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde and methyl 3,4-dihydroxybenzoate is described. The para-alkylation products could be easily prepared via the Mitsunobu reaction with high selectivity in moderate to good yields.
