  Prodrugs: Cellular studies with aminoglycoside potentiators reveal that the potentiators exert their function after bioactivation by the coenzyme A biosynthetic pathway into two or more aminoglycoside N‐6′‐acetyltransferase inhibitors. Interestingly, the potentiators have rapid onset, low cytotoxicity, good stability, and activity against both Gram‐positive and Gram‐negative bacteria.
