    loss of DCl and 1.1 × 107 s-1 for DF. The kinetic isotope effect is 4.4 ± 0.9 for HCl/DCl and appears to be identical for HF/DF. Threshold energies are 54 kcal/mol for loss of HCl and 68 kcal/mol for HF; the E0's for the deuterated channels are 1.4 kcal/mol higher. Comparison of these threshold energies with other haloethanes suggests that for HF and HCl elimination the transition states are developing

The present invention relates to a process for producing a fluorine-containing compound having a carbonate bond by reacting a compound (1) with a fluorine-containing compound having an OH group. In the formula (1) shown below, X1 to X6 each represents a hydrogen atom or a halogen atom, at least one of X1 to X3 is a halogen atom, and at least one of X4 to X6 is a halogen atom.

    The invention relates to a process for producing 1,1,3,3-tetrachloro-1,3-difluoroacetone. This process includes fluorinating hexachloroacetone in a liquid phase by hydrogen fluoride in the presence of a catalyst containing a metal compound. This metal compound can be selected from tin halides, titanium halides, molybdenum halides, tungsten halides, niobium halides, tantalum halides, and iron halides. This process is suitable for producing 1,1,3,3-tetrachloro-1,3-difluoroacetone in an industrial scale.
