    It is an object of the present invention to provide a compound having a (meth)acryloyl group that is suitably used in various applications, a process for producing such compound simply and under mild conditions, and an useful photo-curable composition and aqueous photo-curable composition comprising such compound. The present invention is related to a process for producing a compound having a (meth)acryloyl group    which comprises reacting a compound having both a (meth) acryloyl group and a vinyl ether group with a compound having at least two functional groups capable of an addition reaction with said vinyl ether group, and to    a compound having a (meth)acryloyl group    which is obtained by an addition reaction of a functional group of a compound (A) having at least two functional groups and the vinyl ether group of a compound (B) having both a (meth)acryloyl group and a vinyl ether group,    said functional groups of said compound (A) being selected from the group consisting of a hydroxyl group, a carboxyl group and a thiol group.

    Abstract: A sealing material which does not sag after application and shows excellent sealing performance even under severe high-temperature conditions. Even when used with foaming, the sealing material can form satisfactory closed cells therein. Also provided is a method of foaming application of the sealing material. The sealing material is characterized by comprising an ultraviolet-curable ingredient and an ultraviolet-polymerizable initiator, the content of any thermoplastic elastomer not curable with ultraviolet in the material being 5 wt.% or lower. It is further characterized in that the ultraviolet-curable ingredient comprises an acrylate which gives an ultraviolet-cured polymer having a glass transition temperature and a weight-average molecular weight in respective certain ranges, and that the sealing material has a melt viscosity at 120°C in a certain range. The method of sealing-material foaming application is characterized by thermally melting the sealing material, incorporating nitrogen gas into the molten sealing material at a given elevated pressure, ejecting the mixture in the air at a given pressure and applying it to an area needing sealing while foaming the mixture to thereby form a sealing foam, and curing the foam with ultraviolet.

    The present invention relates to a modified polyimide including a terminal group represented by Formula 1: wherein D is a heat curable or photocurable functional group, R is a divalent or higher polyvalent organic group, and n is an integer of 1 or greater. The modified polyimide undergoes less reduction in transmittance and is protected from discoloration when cured. Due to these advantages, the modified polyimide can provide a highly transparent colorless polyimide film. Particularly, the modified polyimide is suitable for use in display substrates, interlayer insulating films of semiconductor devices, passivation films, buffer coat films, insulating films for multilayer printed circuit boards, insulating films of OLEDs, and protective films of thin film transistors of liquid crystal display devices. The present invention also relates to a curable composition including the modified polyimide.
