The design and synthesis of recyclable imidazolidinone catalysts using GAP chemistry/technique was described. Their applications in asymmetric Diels–Alder and Friedel–Crafts reactions with α,β-unsaturatedaldehydes resulted in excellent yields and higher enantioselectivities than previous processes.
