By assembling organic modules like building blocks, we explored design strategies for large Stokes shift fluorophores. A series of wavelength-tunable fluorophores have been synthesized, which exhibit large Stokes shift and satisfactory brightness. Furthermore, these dyes were applied in lateral flow assay (LFA).
