    β-Substituted polyfluoropropionate salts of the formula: wherein X is -CN, -N3, -SR, -SO2R or -PO(OR')2; R is C1-10 alkyl, aryl or alkaryl having no more than 10 carbon atoms; R' is -CH3, -C2H5, -CH2CF3 or -CH2CF2CF2H; Y is -Cl, -F, -Sr or -ORF except that when X is -CN, Y is -Cl, -F or -Br; RF is perfluoroalkyl, branched or linear, having 1 to 10 carbon atoms or such perfluoroalkyl having one or more carbon-carton links Interrupted by ether oxygen; M is alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or -NR1R2R3R4, wherein R1-R4 are, independently, C1-6 linear alkyl, allyl or benzyl; and n is the valence of M and is 1 or 2 can be used to prepare such derivatives as substituted fluorocarbons and copolymers having pendant groups that can be converted into ion-exchange groups. The salts can be prepared by reaction of a fluoroolefin CF2= CFY a salt MXn and CO2.

    The present invention describes, among other things, the surprising discovery that gaseous precursor filled compositions are profoundly more effective as acoustically active contrast agents when they are thermally preactivated to temperatures at or above the boiling point of the instilled gaseous precursor prior to their in vivo administration to a patient. Further optimization of contrast enhancement is achieved by administering the gaseous precursor filled compositions to a patient as an infusion. Enhanced effectiveness is also achieved for ultrasound mediated targeting and drug delivery.

Also provided in the present invention is a high activity catalyst, said catalyst being able to obtain polypropylene of high isotacticity and wide molecular weight distribution, and not requiring an external electron donor to obtain high isotacticity polypropylene; during polymerization, Al/Ti and Al/Si are reduced, the polymerization time is lengthened, and high activity can still be maintained, suitable for producing low-ash polymers.
