This work highlights the synthesis of glycosyl luciferins and their potential for determining glycosidase activity. Two novel synthetic routes were developed that were used to introduce the luciferin moiety in a late-stage of the sequence and the linear range of the glycosidase assays and kinetics of the substrates were determined.
