N-BOC protected α-hydrazinoketones 4 and N-tris protected α-aminoketones 6 were synthesized in good overall yields by deprotonation and electrophilic amination of the corresponding ketone-N,N-dimethylhydrazones2 and subsequent oxidative cleavage of the resulting product hydrazones 3 and 5 by ozonolysis.
