Palladium‐catalyzed cross‐coupling reactions of 1,1‐diboronates with vinylbromides and dibromoalkenes were found to afford 1,4‐dienes and allenes, respectively. These reactions utilize the high reactivities of both 1,1‐diboronates and allylboron intermediates generated in the initial coupling.
A nickel(II)/silver(I)-catalyzedtandem C(sp2)–H activation and intramolecular annulation of arenes with dibromoalkenes has been successfully achieved, which offers an efficient approach to the 3-methyleneisoindolin-1-one scaffold. Attractive features of this system include its low cost, ease of operation, and its ability to access a wide range of isoindolinones.

An efficient and general copper-catalyzed method is reported for the synthesis of phenol-derived 1-bromoenol ethers, ynol ethers, and ketene acetals by chemodivergent copper-catalyzed cross-coupling between readily available 1,1-dibromo-1-alkenes and phenols.
