A novel protocol for intramolecular ketyl-olefin radicalcyclization with low-valent titanium reagent is outlined. It allows the formation of the benzopyran nucleus from ortho-allyloxy propiophenones as the sole product in moderate yields via intramolecular radicalcyclization.
