  The present invention relates to an antibacterial composition comprising one or more compound(s) of formula I as an active component, and at least one other ingredient, wherein formula I R is a residue of the formula II at the position 2, 3, 4 or 5 and if R is at the position 5, a hydrogen in position 2 is substituted by a methoxy group, and if R is at the position 4, a hydrogen in position 2 may optionally be substituted by a methoxy group. The antibacterial composition is active against Corynebacteria, Staphylococci, and Brevibacteria. Therefore it can inhibit formation of different kinds of body malodor.
