Enantioselective Ruthenium(II)/Xyl-SunPhos/Daipen-Catalyzed Hydrogenation of γ-Ketoamides

A series of gamma-hydroxy amides were synthesized with high enantioselectivities (up to 99%) using asymmetric hydrogenation of the corresponding gamma-ketoamides in the presence of Ru-Xyl-SunPhos-Daipen catalyst providing key building blocks for a variety of naturally occurring and biologically active compounds.

The highly enantioselective cobalt-catalyzedhydroboration reaction of aryl ketones with HBpin was developed using iminopyridine oxazoline ligands. Halides, amines, ethers, sulfides, esters and amides are well tolerated under the mild reaction conditions, demonstrating its synthetic advantage. Substituted diaryl ketones could also be hydroborated with high enantioselectivity.

detailed herein delineate some of the structural features required for high affinity binding to the mDRCs. In most cases the newligands were prepared by use of the Fischer indole synthesis. Variations in the length and number of the alkyl groups on the amide nitrogen were probed together with the effects of halogen substituents on one or both of the aryl rings. Someligands were also synthesized for
