  The disclosure provides new methods for the oxidative Heck cross-coupling reaction with electron-rich alkenes such as substituted β-amidoacrylate and other related substituted enamides. Previously, functionalization of enamides under Heck conditions has been limited to those with unsubstituted vinyl groups.
