Letztere führt zu einem Δ8,14-8, 11-Dimethyl-1, 7-dioxo-12-oxy-dodecahydro-phenanthren (IX), welches bei der säurekatalysierten Wasserabspaltung in Δ8,14;12,13-8, 11-Dimethyl-1, 7-dioxodecahydro-phenanthren (X) übergeht.
