  In conjunction with the study of acetylene substituted 1,6-methano[10]annulenes, butadiynyl substituted derivatives 10-13 have been synthesized using a stereospecific palladium-catalyzed coupling of an acetylene to geminal dibromosubstituted alkenes 2a-2c to yield enynes 4a-4d followed by dehydrohalogenation.
