睾酮代谢物,如雄酮(androsterone),即3α-羟-5d-雄烷-17-酮,是男性尿液中检测到的一种代谢产物。它以葡糖醛酸结合体的形式通过尿液排出。雄酮的雄性激素活性较弱,相比睾酮更为逊色。表雄酮(epian-drosterone)是在3β位上有羟基的异构物。

Androsterone(5α-Androsterone)是源自性激素的类固醇代谢产物,具有较弱的雄激素活性。

体外研究
Androsterone能激活mFXR-LBD和hFXR-LBD。与hFXR-LBD相比,它对mFXR-LBD的激活作用更为强烈。此外,在与gal4-hFXR-LBD和SRC-1/VP16表达质粒共转染的研究中表明,Androsterone增强了SRC-1与hFXR-LBD的相互作用。多个氨基酸变化,包括H294S、S332V、R351H和Y361F显著减少了其激活作用。此外,Androsterone(5α, 3α-A)在浓度依赖性的体外切片模型中以剂量相关的方式抑制了癫痫样放电。
体内研究
Androsterone处理能够显著诱导小异二聚体伙伴(SHP),表明它可能激活内源性FXR。腹腔注射Androsterone(5α, 3α-A)能以剂量依赖性方式保护小鼠免受以下模型中的癫痫发作:6 Hz电刺激(29.1 mg/kg)、戊四唑(43.5 mg/kg)、毒扁豆碱(105 mg/kg)、4-氨基吡啶(215 mg/kg)和最大电击(224 mg/kg)。
