One-pot, multicomponent synthesis of 2,3-disubstituted quinazolin-ones with potent and selective activity against Toxoplasma gondii

The discovery of two quinazolinones with selective, single-digit micromolar activity (IC50 = 6-7 mu M) against the tachyzoites of the apicomplexan parasite Toxoplasma gondii is reported. These potent and selective third generation derivatives contain a benzyloxybenzyl substituent at C2 and a bulky aliphatic moiety at N3. Here we show that these quinazolinones inhibit T. gondii tachyzoite replication in an established infection, but do not significantly affect host cell invasion by the tachyzoites. The present invention is directed to encapsulated fragrance materials. The fragrance materials are comprised of high Clog P materials or high Clog P fragrance materials along with high Clog P solvent materials. The encapsulated fragrance and solvent materials can then be further coated with a second coating, preferably a cationic coating. The selective use of solvents enables the fragrance and fragrance materials to remain in the capsules for extended periods of time without leaching from the capsule. The leaching of the flavor or fragrance materials is a problem especially in products that contain a high loading of surfactant or emulsifying materials such as laundry and oral care products.

The present invention refers to a cosmetic composition, comprising Allantoin and/or Heliotropine or a mixture thereof, and ionically bound and/or free thiocyanate ions or derivatives thereof, a combination of Allantoin and/or Heliotropine and ionically bound and/or free thiocyanate ions or derivatives thereof for use in the treatment of stressed skin, e.g. by dermatitis, neurodermitis, psoriasis, eczema, allergic reaction, heat, cold, sunburn and/or dryness and the use of ionically bound and/or free thiocyanate ions or derivatives thereof in cosmetic compositions for improved effectiveness of incorporation of Allantoin and/or Heliotropine in said cosmetic compositions.
