  [ⁱPr₂GaN(H)^tBu]₂ (1) and [Mes(Cl)GaN(H)^tBu]₂ (2) can be synthesized by the metathesis reaction of ⁱPr₂GaCl and MesGaCl₂ with one equivalent of LiN(H)^tBu, respectively. 1 and 2 were characterized by NMR, IR and MS techniques as well as by X-ray structure analyses. 1 and 2 consist of centrosymmetric dimeric molecules with a Ga₂N₂ skeleton. According to cryoscopic measurements in benzene, both amides are dimeric in solution, too.
