The thermal and Lewisacidcatalyzed intramolecular Diels-Alderreactions of 1 (n = 5–11) have been studied. The catalyzedreactions efficiently form 7–11 membered rings and produce mainly cis adducts. Lewisacids prevent the five-membered ring forming reaction.
