Four new neo-clerodane diterpenoids have been isolated from the aerial parts of Teucrium gracile. The structures of these compounds, 3-beta,19-diacetoxy-4-alpha,18;15,16-diepoxy-6-beta-hydroxy-neo-cleroda-13(16),14-dien-20,12S-olide (teugracilin A), 19-acetoxy-4-alpha,18;15,16-diepoxy-3-beta,6-beta-dihydroxy-neo-cleroda-13(16),14-dien-20,12S-olide (3-O-deacetylteugracilin A), 19-acetoxy-4-alpha,18;15,16-diepoxy-3-beta,6-alpha-dihydroxy-neo-cleroda-13(16),14-dien-20,12S-olide (teugracilin B) and 12-zeta,19-diacetoxy-4-alpha,18;15,16-diepoxy-neo-cleroda-13(16),14-diene-3-beta,6-alpha-diol (teugracilin C), were established by chemical and spectroscopic means. In addition, the already known neo-clerodane derivative teumicropodin [3-beta,19-diacetoxy-4-alpha,18;15,16-diepoxy-6-alpha-hydroxy-neo-cleroda-13(16),14-dien-20,12S-olide] has been isolated from the same source.
