  Two new oleanene sapogenols, abrisapogenols A (1) and C (2), have been obtained from the methanolysate of the crude saponin fraction. They have been effective for treating a hepatic injury induced by CCl4, in Abri Herba, the whole plant of Abrus cantoniensis HANCE (Leguminosae), Also a novel saponin, abrisaponin I (3) has been obtained from the same saponin fraction.
