    The invention provides a cleaning agent for removal of a rosin-base solder flux, the cleaning agent comprising a mixture of (A) at least one glycol ether compound of the formula (1) wherein R¹ is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, R² is an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, R³ is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group and k is an integer of 2 to 4, (B) at least one nonionic surfactant, (C) at least one phosphate anionic surfactant, and also provides a cleaning method for removing a rosin-base solder flux, the method comprising bringing the above cleaning agent into contact with the rosin-base solder flux.

    This invention relates to an alkyl Grignard reagents in diethylene glycol dibutyl ether. The invention also relates to a novel method for preparing Grignard reagents comprising reacting an alkyl halide with magnesium metal in the presence of diethylene glycol dibutyl ether. Grignard reagents prepared in the presence of diethylene glycol dibutyl ether have improved yields and stability, including storage stability, at room temperature. The Grignard reagents are prepared without the use of a low boiling and/or flammable stabilizing agents such as benzene, toluene, tetrahydrofuran, and diethyl ether.
