C(sp2)−H/N−H coupling of α,β-unsaturated hydrazones resulting in substituted pyrazoles has been discovered. The process is catalyzed by hypervalent iodine species generated in situ through anodic oxidation of aryl iodide in fluorinated alcohol media.
