An effective redox deracemization of α-aryl glycine esters has been described. The one-pot redox process consisted of copper(II) catalysis using molecular oxygen as terminal oxidant and chiral phosphoric acid catalyzed asymmetric transfer hydrogenation with benzothiazoline as hydride donor.
