Process for preparing an olefin polymerisation catalyst component, in which a liquid phase IV-valent titanium compound is combined with a dissolved magnesium complex to form a solution of a catalyst precursor from which said component is eventually precipitated, the combining being effected in the presence of a silica or magnesium chloride seed.
