A series of MFC materials with a 2-biarylyl cinchoninic acid skeleton have been synthesized, which are based on interconversion of classical/ frustrated Brønsted pairs. These materials have mechanochromic shift of up to 115 nm, as well as highly contrast, highly sensitivity and highly responsiveness properties.
