A Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reaction of α-chloroacetates or α-chloroacetamides with arylboronic acids is made possible by visible-light irradiation. This reaction provides a useful method for the synthesis of α-arylacetates and α-arylacetamides from chlorides under mild reaction conditions.
