  从17-乙酰氧基雌二醇3-甲基醚（1）开始合成了9,11-雌二醇（9）和11-羟基-9,11-仲雌二醇（12），发现它们在大鼠中具有显着的抗生育活性。3-甲氧基-9,11-seco-9-oxo-17beta-acetoxyestra-1,3,5（10）-trien-11-oic acid（2），由CrO3氧化1，在氢解后制得甲基17beta-羟基-3-甲氧基-9,11-仲骨架-1,3,5（10）-三烯-11-羧酸酯（3）。用LiAlH4处理3的17-O-THP衍生物，得到17β-（O-四氢吡喃基）-3-甲氧基-11-羟基-9,11-仲-1,3,5（10）-三烯（5） 。LiAlH4还原时5的11-O-甲磺酸酯，然后在碱条件下进行弱酸处理和脱甲基，得到9。LiAlH4还原3时得到9,11-seco-11-羟基雌二醇3-甲基醚（11），脱甲基时得到9 ，11-seco-11-羟基雌二醇（12）。
