    Development of novel antibacterial agents against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus
    摘要:
    Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) poses a serious threat to public health because of its resistance to multiple antibiotics most commonly used to treat infection. In this study, we report the unique ability of the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor celecoxib to kill Staphylococcus aureus and MRSA with modest potency. We hypothesize that the anti-Staphylococcus activity of celecoxib could be pharmacologically exploited to develop novel anti-MRSA agents with a distinct mechanism. Examination of an in-house, celecoxib-based focused compound library in conjunction with structural modifications led to the identification of compound 46 as the lead agent with high antibacterial potency against a panel of Staphylococcus pathogens and different strains of MRSA. Moreover, this killing effect is bacteria-specific, as human cancer cells are resistant to 46. In addition, a single intraperitoneal administration of compound 46 at 30 mg/kg improved the survival of MRSA-infected C57BL/6 mice. In light of its high potency in eradicating MRSA in vitro and its in vivo activity, compound 46 and its analogues warrant continued preclinical development as a potential therapeutic intervention against MRSA.     An object of the present invention is to provide a light emitting device which is high in emission intensity and stable, that is to say, a light emitting device in which when an LED or LD having an emission peak at 380 nm to 410 nm is used as an excitation light source of the light emitting device, the emission intensity of a red phosphor does not largely change to some deviation of the emission wavelength of the LED or LD to maintain not only brightness but also a balance at the time when mixed with a blue and green phosphors. The present invention relates to a light emitting device characterized in that the device comprises a phosphor which has Eu 3+ as a luminescent center ion, in which a minimum emission intensity within the excitation wavelength range of 380 nm to 410 nm in an excitation spectrum is 65% or more of a maximum emission intensity, and which has an emission efficiency at 400 nm of 20% or more, and a semiconductor light emitting element which emits light in the region from near-ultraviolet light to visible light.

    Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines lumineszenzfähigen Schichtsilikatverbundes. Das erfindungsgemässe Verfahren zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass mindestens ein Lumineszenzfarbstoff, insbesondere Fluoreszenfarbstoff, auf Basis mindestens eines Komplexes, insbesondere Chelatkomplexes, mindestens eines Elements der Seltenen Erden ("Seltenerdkomplex") zwischen mindestens zwei Lagen jeweils mindestens eines Schichtsilikates ("Schichtsilikatlagen") eingebracht und/oder eingelagert wird bzw. dass mindestens ein Lumineszenzfarbstoff, insbesondere Fluoreszenzfarbstoff, auf Basis mindestens eines Komplexes, insbesondere Chelatkomplexes, mindestens eines Elements der Seltenen Erden ("Seltenerdkomplex") mit einem Schichtsilikat zu einem Verbund zusammengeführt wird. Der erfindungsgemässe lumineszenzfähige Schichtsilikatverbund kann zur Markierung von Gegenständen, beispielsweise auf Kunststoffbasis, oder im Bereich der Bioanalytik eingesetzt werden.
