Oxidative coupling of substituted 1,2,3,4,4a,5-hexahydro-13H-benzimidazo[2,1-j]quinolines with methylene-active derivatives of carboxylic acids
摘要:
The oxidative coupling of substituted 1,2,3,4,4a,5-hexahydro-13H-benzimidazo[2,1-j]quinolines with methylene-active derivatives of carboxylic acids led to the formation of p-methylenequinone imines of the mentioned series; in some events the reaction was accompanied with a hydrolytic cleavage of the exocyclic fragment.
The present invention relates to compounds effective in preventing neuronal cell death, which may be used in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. It is based, at least in part, on the discovery that particular compounds were effective in preventing neuronal death in model systems of Huntington's Disease.
