The [2,3]Wittig rearrangements of allylic ethers with a chiral substituent at the γ-positions, derived from ()-lactaldehyde and ()-glyceraldehyde, are shown to exhibit an extremely high asymmetric induction, together with a high simple diastereoselectivity.
