  Irbesartan (Avapro™) is in clinical use as an antihypertensive drug. It is a nonpeptide angiotensin II receptor antagonist. A radiolabeled version of this drug, intended for use in environmental fate studies, was prepared from N,N-dimethyl[14C]formamide.
