Two simple sea cucumber ganglioside analogs 8(NeuAcα 26 Glcβ 1 docosanol) and 9 (NeuAcβ 26 Glcβ 11 docosanol), containing a long-chain alcohol as a mimic of ceramide, have been synthesized.
