  Two antifungal phthalides produced by a wheat rhizosphere fungus have been synthesized using the Alder-Rickert reaction to construct their common isobenzofuranone core structure. The absolute configuration of one of the two phthalides has been determined to be S by synthesizing its (S)- and (R)-enantiomer and comparing their optical rotations with that of the natural product.   Aus Kulturen von Aspergillus duricaulis wurden 19 hochsubstituierte Phthalide und Chromanole isoliert und in ihrer Struktur aufgeklärt. Bei 12 dieser Metaboliten handelt es sich um bisher noch nicht beschriebene Substanzen. Die antibiotische Aktivität einiger dieser Metaboliten ist offensichtlich an das Vorliegen einer 4-Formylphthalid-Gruppierung geknüpft.

  从杜氏曲霉的培养物中分离出19种高度取代的邻苯二甲酸酯和色酚，并阐明了它们的结构。这些代谢物中的12种是尚未描述的物质。这些代谢物中某些的抗生素活性显然与4-甲酰邻苯二甲酰部分的存在有关。
