The tetrasaccharide β-D-Man-(1→4)-α-L-Rha-(1→3)-D-Gal-(4←1)-α-D-Glc the repeating unit of the O-specific polysaccharide chain of the lipopolysaccharides from Salmonella muenster and S, minneapolis was obtained by glycosylation of benzyl 2,6-di-O-benzyl-4-0(2,3,4-tri-O-benzyl-6-O-benzoyl-α-D-glucopyranosyl)-β-D-galactopyranoside with 3-O-acetyl-4-0-(2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-β-D-mannopyranosyl)- β-L-rhamnopyranose-1
四糖β-D-Man-(1→4)-α-L-Rha-(1→3)-D-Gal-(4←1)-α-D-Glc是O特异性多糖的重复单元从脂多糖链沙门氏菌明斯特和S,明尼阿波利斯,通过苄基2,6-二-O-苄基- 4-0(2,3,4-三-O-苄基-6-O-苯甲酰基α的糖基化得到-D-吡喃葡萄糖基)-β-D-吡喃半乳糖苷与3-O-乙酰基-4-0-(2,3,4,6-四-O-乙酰基-β-D-甘露吡喃糖基)-β-L-鼠李糖吡喃糖- 1,2-(原乙酸甲酯),然后除去保护基。通过甲基化分析,CrO 3 -AcOH氧化和13 C-NMR确认了合成四糖的结构。
