A new approach to asymmetric synthesis of γ-aminophosphonic acids is described. It involves the diastereoselective addition of various carbon and phosphorus nucleophiles to enantiopure (+)-(S)-N-[(3-diethoxyphosphoryl)propylidene]-p-toluenesulfinamide and subsequent acid hydrolysis of the adducts formed.
