We herein report the copper-catalyzed C–S bond coupling reaction of indoles with N-thiosuccinimides, resulting in moderate to excellent yields of mono- and bis-sulfenylated compounds such as arylthioindoles, alkylthioindoles, selenylated indoles, and cysteine-substituted indoles.
