A palladium(II)‐catalyzed γ‐C−H amination of cyclic alkyl amines to deliver highly substituted azetidines is reported. The first example to access ortho iodinated phenols using cyclic hypervalent iodine(iii) reagents through palladium(ii) catalyzed C–H activation has been developed via weak coordination. The reaction showed excellent regioselectivity, reactivity and good functional group tolerance. A unique mechanism was proposed.

Various [hydroxy(sulfonyloxy)iodo]arenes were simply and efficiently obtained in high yields from the reaction of iodoarenes and MCPBA in the presence of sulfonic acids in a small amount of chloroform at room temperature, through a one-pot procedure.

The solvent-free synthesis of 1-(p-toluenesulfonyloxy)-1,2-benziodoxol-3(1H)-one is reported from Dess–Martin periodinane and p-toluenesulfonic acid monohydrate using a grinding technique and is subsequently utilized for the α-tosyloxylation of a range of enolisable ketones.
