  由市售的2-溴-1,3-二甲基苯5实际合成（±）-蝶呤A的总产率为10％。合成过程使用C6-溴茚满酮衍生物3与乙烯基三氟硼酸钾9的Suzuki-Miyaura偶联反应，从而以> 85％的收率提供了相应的乙烯基茚满酮2。通过用LAH还原，用TESCl选择性保护伯醇，用硼氢化-乙烯基氧化，用TIPSCl保护伯醇，将仲醇氧化和用TBAF进行甲硅烷基化，可以将乙烯基茚满酮2进一步修饰为蝶呤A。
