N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) platinum(II) complexes with the general formula [Pt(NHC)(L)]2Ph were synthesized, which are composed of two [Pt(NHC)(L)] (L = acetylacetone, dipivaloylmethane or dimesitoylmethane; NHC = 3-methylimidazole or 3-benzylimidazole) fragments.
