Abstract Various organoselenium compounds (diselenides, benzisoselenazol‐3(2H)‐ones, and 1,3,2‐thiaselenazolones) are effective catalysts for oxidative dealkylation of hydroquinone ethers with t‐butyl hydroperoxide to 1,4‐quinones.
