    [GRAPHICS]A new series of amphiphilic G1-G3 dendrons containing purely aliphatic hydrocarbon dendritic surface sectors and one or two carboxylic acid group(s) at the focal point was synthesized in good yields. The key branching steps involve diallylation reactions of diethyl malonate or Meldrum's acid. These dendrons are highly soluble in hexane despite having highly polar carboxylic acid groups at the focal point.

    Synthesis of various C‐3‐dialkyl derivatives of quinoline 2,4‐diol was achieved by condensation of aniline or substituted anilines with diethyl malonate, followed by chemoselective alkylation at C‐3 in water.     A catalyst for polymerization of olefins formed from (A) a solid catalyst component containing magnesium, titanium, halogen, and an electron donor compound, (B) an organoaluminum compound shown by the formula, R 6 p AlQ 3-p , and (C) an aminosilane compound shown by the formula, R 3 n Si(NR 4 R 5 ) 4-n ; and a process for producing a catalyst for polymerization of olefins in the presence of the catalyst are provided. A novel aminosilane compound, a catalyst component for polymerization of olefins having a high catalytic activity, capable of producing polymers with high stereoregularity in a high yield, and exhibiting an excellent hydrogen response, a catalyst, and a process for producing olefin polymers using the catalyst are provided.

    An olefin polymerization catalyst is obtained by bringing the following components (A), (B) and (C) into contact with one another: (A) a solid catalyst component for olefin polymerization containing a titanium atom, a magnesium atom and a halogen atom; (B) an organoaluminum compound; and (C) a triether represented by formula (I). An olefin polymerization solid catalyst can be provided having a sufficiently high polymerization activity and an ability to produce an olefin polymer with a low content of low-molecular weight components and amorphous components.

    A catalyst for polymerization of olefins and a process for producing an olefin polymer or copolymer are disclosed. The catalyst comprises (a) a solid catalyst component obtained by causing an organosilicon compound (b) represented by the formula, [CH2=CH-(CH2)n]qSiR34-q, and an organoaluminum compound to come in contact with a solid component comprising magnesium, titanium, halogen, and an electron donor compound, or a solid catalyst component obtained by causing a magnesium compound, two types of titanium compounds, an electron donor compound, and an organosilicon compound to come in contact with each other, and (B) an organoaluminum compound. The process for producing an olefin polymer or copolymer comprises polymerizing olefins in the presence of the catalyst. The catalyst has a high catalytic activity, exhibits excellent hydrogen response, and can produce polymers with high stereoregularity and a broad molecular weight distribution at a high yield.
