New complexes of Ph2P(CH2)nP(O)Ph2 (n = 1 (dppmO), n = 2 (dppeO)) and Ph2P(CH2P(S)Ph2 (dppmS) have been synthesized. These include mono- and di-nuclear metal carbonyl derivatives of chromium, molybdenum and manganese. The cationic complexes, [Rh(COD) L]X (L = dppmO, dppeO, X = PF6; L = dppmS; X = Cl, ClO4 PF6), the dimers [RhCl(CO)dppmS)] 2 and [PdCl2(dppmS)]2, and the mononuclear complexes [IrCl(COD)L]
