Appropriately protected guanosinederivatives were successfully converted to the corresponding O6-substituted guanosinederivatives by treatment with dialkyl- or diaryl-phosphoryl halides, dialkyl- or diaryl-phosphinothioyl halides, arenesulfonyl chlorides, and trialkylsilyl chlorides.
