Transition-metal and base-free thioannulation of propynamides with sodium sulfide and dichloromethane for the selective synthesis of 1,3-thiazin-4-ones and thiazolidine-4-ones
A thioannulation of propynamides with sodium sulfide and CH2Cl2 in the absence of transition-metal and base has been established. This one-pot tandem reaction provides a facile and efficient method for the selective synthesis of 1,3-thiazide-4-ones or thiazolidine-4-ones through constructing both C–N and C–S bonds. The atom-economic reaction features mild conditions and good functional group tolerance

An efficient and convenient palladium-catalyzed cascade carboesterification of norbornenes (NBE) with alkynes has been accomplished to afford functionalized α-methylene γ-lactone and tetrahydrofuran derivatives in good to excellent yields. This new strategy exhibits excellent atom- and step-economy, good functional group tolerance and broad substrate scope. In particular, NBE-palladium species was

metal catalyzed amidations remains a challenge. Here, a manganese(I)-catalyzed method for the direct synthesis of amides from a various number of esters and amines is reported with unprecedented substrate scope using a low catalyst loading. A wide range of aromatic, aliphatic, and heterocyclic esters, even in fattyacid esters, reacted with a diverse range of primary aryl amines, primary alkyl amines
A novel and convenient method has been developed for the facile synthesis of functionalized succinimide derivatives via intramolecular Alder-ene reaction of 1,6-enynes. This reaction features mild and metal-free reaction conditions, which offers a green and efficient entry to synthetically important succinimide scaffolds. Preliminary mechanistic studies suggest that a diradical intermediate might be
