(EtO)2SeO with Aerosil silica dehydroxylated at 500 °C results in the formation of a unique surface derivative [≡SiO−Se(O)OEt] (1), which has been fully characterized by elemental analysis, IR, labelling reaction and solid-state NMR spectroscopy.
