    A biodegradable scale inhibitor and dispersant is provided. The scale inhibitor includes a copolymer comprising at least one of N-oxygenatedhydrocarbonamide monomers and at least one of amino acid monomers. A method of reducing scale build-up on heating exchanger surfaces that come in contact with an industrial water is provided by adding a copolymer comprising at least one of N-oxygenatedhydrocarbonamide monomers and at least one of amino acid monomers to the water system such as cooling towers.

    This invention relates to identifying a biomolecular profile of an organism. In particular, the invention relates to targeted and selected proteomics. Provided is a method for identifying a molecular profile comprising a set of molecules of an organism, said method comprising the steps of: a) providing an organism with at least one heterologous modifying activity capable of tagging at least part of said molecules with at least one tag, preferably a carbohydrate tag, which is otherwise not displayed in said organism, wherein said tagging is regulated by at least one regulatory element; b) isolating the tagged molecules to obtain a library of tagged molecules; and c) characterizing said tagged molecules.

    The present invention provides a novel method of producing a recombinant bacterium for production of a non-natural protein, including: (1) expressing tRNA in a bacterium, which tRNA recognizes UAG codon; (2) expressing an aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase in the bacterium, which aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase acylates the tRNA with a non-natural amino acid or an α-hydroxy acid; (3) (i) introducing a DNA construct into the bacterium, which DNA construct is for expressing, in the absence of a release factor for terminating translation at UAG codon, a function of at least one gene selected from the group consisting of genes each of which loses its function when a gene that codes for the release factor is defective and/or introducing an alteration into said at least one gene in a chromosome of the bacterium, which alteration is for expressing the function of said at least one gene in the absence of the release factor; and (4) causing the gene that codes for the release factor in the bacterium to be defective.
